It also explored opportunities for bilateral geopolitical cooperation in the aftermath of New START and in the context of today's volatile global political environment.
Tuesday, July 12 — Richmond, VA: USRBC President Ed Verona kicked off the 2011 Road Show with Senator Mikhail Margelov in Richmond with meetings with Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and other state leaders (including Virginia Senate Majority Leader Richard Saslaw and U.S. Congressional office representatives) as well as an event with the Richmond World Affairs Council. USRBC members Philip Morris and DuPont joined in a number of the sessions.

Wednesday, July 13 — Raleigh-Durham, NC: Senator Mikhail Margelov joined USRBC President Ed Verona and Executive Vice President Randi Levinas for a luncheon at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business with university civic leaders, including representatives from North Carolina’s Department of Commerce and U.S. Congressional staff. North Carolina plans to open a state office in Russia in the coming months. USRBC member Cisco Systems hosted USRBC and Senator Margelov and his wife for a meeting at its Research Triangle Park offices.

Thursday, July 14 — Charlotte, NC: The Charlotte Chamber of Commerce featured USRBC and Senator Margelov at a high-level luncheon which brought together key civic leaders, including the chairs of North Carolina's District Export Council and Charlotte's International Cabinet, and other business leaders, including officials from USRBC member Bank of America, a sponsor of the 2011 Road Show. Voronezh is Charlotte's Sister City, and the North Carolina economic hub is planning a series of events in 2012 highlighting Russian culture and economic ties.

Friday, July 15 — Columbia, SC: The Columbia World Affairs Council drew together a robust group of state officials, including the Mayor of Columbia and representatives from U.S. Congressional offices, for a luncheon for USRBC President Ed Verona, Executive Vice President Randi Levinas and Senator Mikhail Margelov. USRBC also toured a sorting facility of USRBC member UPS. The day concluded with a private meeting with Representative Joe Wilson (R-SC).
